SCS TeaPot Party #495

This card will go to a couple in Hawaii.  He is having major health
issues, and she is struggling to cope with the situation.  I added the musical note because  music is important to him.

Scripture TLC digi; Spellbinder circle dies; chalk for distressing. gold mesh strip; ribbon, distressed edges.  The musical note is from a new packet of die cuts I just got (Paper Wishes).

Tag/book mark

I thought I would make a few simple tags to enclose in thinking of you cards - they can be used as inspiration or as book marks.  The stamp is one I have had for a long time - by Rubber Stampede.  I used chalk to sponge around the edges and added some yellow.   Not much too it, but It will serve my purpose.

SCS TeaPotParty for the Mitchell family

A few weeks ago the SplitCoastStampers Tea Pot Party send cards to the Mitchell family - they are grieving the recent loss of several family members.  I am late to the party but wanted to send a thinking of you card.
Image - SU Herb Expressions; all papers from a new to me Scrap Pad from K&Company; a bit of Washi tape; green gems. I have used some very favorite dies - the Spellbinder circles.

Hearts for a TeaPot party RAK

Here is another card for the TeaPot party at SplitCoastStampers - we have a weekly challenge to send some one cheer.  I am way behind, and will use this for one of the past recipients.
The image is by Scribbles and the sentiment by QKR Stampede - though I may swap that out, depending on the situation.  I colored the hearts with various shades of Twinkling H2O inks, and used a Spellbinder Labels 4 die cut as back up.  The paper is by Paper Studio.  I think this fits as a Valentine/love greeting.

The weekly challenge at QKR Stampede is always anything goes.  Please join us for a chance to win digis from the company.  You may enter as many as 3 times by Thursday at 3 p.m. EST.  I opted for this cute Valentine image this week colored with Prismas and an aqua pen.  I added some shiny gold ribbon and Cuttlebug die cut hearts.  The embossed heart background is from a folder by Darice.

SplitCoastStampers Teapot Party #489

I have some serious catching up to do with the TeaPot Tuesday RAK challenges at SplitCoastStampers.  I used to be a regular, but have been more of an occasional participant recently.  I need to do better.  This card goes to Martina whose sister, her last family member, recently died, and Martina is lonely.  I used her favorite colors and another favorite, a butterfly.  This scripture, from TLC, seems appropriate.  Information on the TeaPot Party can be found here.

Belated HB, Leah

Our granddaughter was touring Europe on her birthday, so this card will be late.  I thought this castle from the SU set Provencale would be appropriate, though I am not sure whether or not she did see any castles.  I think this is appropriate for "new" challenges as she has been between seasons with her job - working on the activity staff for American riverboat cruises.  She has not yet heard her new assignment..  I used the ink pad to distress the embossing - folder by Lifestyle Crafts.  I am hoping it looks a bit like stone building blocks.  The edges of the image are also distressed.  The Granddaughter sticker is new, and the post mark sticker is from a set I found buried in one of my boxes!

Another try for Janet's BDay

I like this version of the Tuesday morning sketch better than the one in the previous post - though I did change the circle to an oval.  Once again, I flipped the design to have the bird facing the center rather than the edge!  The bird is a stamp by SU  - does any one know the set?  I used a gold sticker strip and gold ribbon with my new (yard sale!!) K&Company papers.  The edging is chalked and distressed.

Not so happy with this one

I was disappointed when I put the final touches on this - I did flip the sketch so the bird was facing mid card rather than the edge - does this bother any one else?  But in doing this I misjudged the size of the vertical strip - too much dotted area and not enough of the other patterns.  I plan a re-do.  The bird image was a single stamp from a yard sale - it is SU but I have no idea of the name.  Coloring is with water color pencils.  Papers by Lily of the Valley.   I distressed the edge of the circle and the edges of the papers. The Washi tape strip is from a new roll.

QKR Stampede DT card - Anything Goes Challenge #279

For this week's QKR Stampede Anything Goes challenge I used this adorable image - Bedtime Bear.  I distressed the edges and added a bit of chalk shading to the image as well as the edges of the patterned paper. The narrow strip between the papers is a sticker. The image and sticker are new to me.
The QKR Stampede challenge is open, with up to 3 entries, until 4 p.m. EST on Thursday.
Prizes are given for a card using a QKR image and for one using any product.

DT card for Crafter's Cafe Challenge #188 - Lots of Bling

I used Heart Doodle 5 by Scribbles to create this card with lots of bling - the theme for the current challenge at Crafter's Cafe.  We hope you will join us!
I used several different shades of shimmery Twinkling H20's to color the hearts, and a shiny gel pen to highlight the border doodles as well as the sentiment (It is a freebie from Scribbles.)  The pink background is shimmery cs.  I added pink gems and metallic cord for more bling.  Red glitter along the border provides even more bling - but I mostly covered it with the cord!

Starting on Christmas 2018

This meets a couple of my coals for this year - make more cards, and remember to upcycle.  This is paet of one of the lovely cards I have received -and that I am reluctant to toss!  I just added an embossed background (Swiss dots) and banner with a computer sentiment.  My interpretation of new beginnings - this is a new beginning for this image from another card - and I will use the verse on the inside.

Sympathy remembering Wendy

Sadly, I need another sympathy card.  My sister's step daughter passed away yesterday.
This uses a stamp by SU and I can't think of the name.  I used watercolor pencils and an aqua pen for the soft look.    The die cut (Spellbinder) sentiment is from my stash,  and the embossed butterflies are a Darice folder. The gold  ribbon is new.
I am also trying to reach a goal of 300 cards for the year - I should be on track!

We hope you will join us this week for the Anything Goes Challenge at QKR Stampede.  You may enter as many as 3 times for a chance to win digi images - the deadline is 4 p.m.. EST on Thursday.  If you use QKR/Eureka images and win, you get more images!  See you there...
This image is called Bathing Turtle.  The sentiment is also from QKR Stampede.  I added some sparkle to the soap suds, and tied it with Baker's Twine. I used 3 different papers for the background, as well as the dark green.

Sympathy - Cross and Blossoms

I will most likely use this for a sympathy card.  The stamp, one I have had for a long time, is Cross & Blossoms,  by Paper Inspirations.  I stamped it on subtly patterned paper - all in tones of blue/blue green.  The mats and leaves are a dark teal.  The strip on the left  (patterned paper) is from a set of banner dies (Spellbinder) that I have had for a while, but have not used - so they are new to me. The leaves are from a Sizzix die, and the background is a butterfly folder by Darice.

(If this looks too dark, tilt your screen just a bit!)
This is a combination I really like - but for some reason, I struggled with this card.

DT Card for QKR Stampede challenge #277 - Anything Goes

Beginning with this challenge, the QKR Stampede weekly challenge will be a favorite - Anything Goes.  You have a chance to win some QKR images - more if your entry uses a QKR/Eureka digi or stamp.  The deadline (up to 3 entries) is Thursday at 3 p.m. EST.  We hope to see your entry!
The digital image I selected is called Bandaged Cat.  I am not sure if this is technically paper piecing - since I printed and fussy cut the entire image from a piece of DP!   The sentiment is also from QKR Stampede.  I used various pieces of patterned paper, adding sequins and bits of ribbon. The images are new for this challenge, and the sequins are from a never used pack.
