Thanks for the Memories

I had time to complete one more card - a friend would like some thank you cards.  I got to ink up my garage sale find - SU Designer Greetings.  I got the ribbon with the stamps.    The DP is Recollections.
For this challenge, I used the sketch, then realized it has a twist - a movie or book theme.  I have in mind "Thanks for the Memories" - this is a thank you for a visit :"home".  But I suspect that old Bob Hope song is just that - a song.  Could it have been in one of his movies?  (I realize many of you are too old to know what I am talking about...LOL!).   http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/

Anniversary for fall

Here is another of the images I have received through WishRAK (at SCS) and I have forgotten who makes it.  It is such a fun image for my friends!  I colored with prismas, and added some sparlkle with Spica pens, but I think it does not show here.  The sentiment is 7Gypsies library stamp.  The floral DP is Daisy D, and the hexagon and green are A Muse.

Simpler thank you

I need several thank you cards.  I have used fall colors a lot, so was ready for something else.  I had this embossed piece I had done earlier, to practice with inking the folder.  Not the greatest, but I like the "less than perfect" look.  I think the CB folder is called celebratios.  It has several sentiment dies - but none for thank you.  This stamp is from a set by Recollections.

Autumn Thank You

I need a couple of thank you cards.  I failed to make note of this image - it has been in my "colored stash" for a while.  The floral dp is from a Daisy D pack -  I have had this for a while, and kind of forget to use it during the fall season!  I added a bit of ribbon and some crystals.

Two November birthdays

I have had little time for card making this week, but DGD is having a birthday soon. One reason I selected this stamp is to make her card - she is a sophomore and expects to play HS varsity later this year. Green and gold are the school colors, but I am not sure about the uniform!
The stamp is Your Next Stamp, with a Studio G sentiment. The basketball dp is by Paper House, and the words are on dp by Karen Foster. Coloring with Prismas and Spica pens.

I remembered just in time!  I added a "16" - big day!

This image was a gift from a friend at WishRAK, and is perfect for our grandson - he loves to hunt and fish, and this looks like his dog! I used the Sizzix fall leaf EF - a reminder of the aspens in CO. The sentiment is computer generated, and I bought a bag of plastic bone/buttons at a yard sale.

Country Garden in the fall

These bird houses looked kind of empty - no birds in sight!  So I think it works for a fall card, with flowers in fall colors.  The DP is DCWV fall pack.  The image is my prize from High Hopes, called Country Garden.  I was happy to have a chance to ink it up - though I had to crop it a bit for this layout.  The sentiment is Our Daily Bread.  I used more prizes for some of the coloring - the small flowers, leaves and centers all use Spica pens - I have come to really like the results of these shimmery pens - and the ease of use.  The rest of the coloring is with Prismas.  The leaves are Shapeabilities Orchard Harvest.

Classy improvised Christmas card

Once again I stepped out of my usual pattern for Christmas.  I wanted to do the Unity challenge to create a Christmas card,\.  One of the requirements is to use only Unity or Ippity stamps.  I have several, but nothing that would be considered Christmas.  I hope the snowflakes and the star, as well as the gold trim, will make a Christmas setting for this lovely verse from the Faith set.  The star is a piece cut from Paper Studio's Christmas Designs.

Christmas 2012 - alternative

Most of my personal Christmas cards for one year use the same image (that way, I don't have to keep track for next year!!) - but sometimes they do not fit a layout, so this is an alternative. The  image is one of four on a cube that does not credit the company., and the text is JustRite.  The DP comes from the Paper Studio stack called Faith.

Whenever I see this image, I am reminded of "Away in a Manger"m and I used a stamp I have had for several years, as well as DP I purchased a yhear ago:  http://oldiebutagoodiechallenge.blogspot.com/

Embossed wedding

Yeah!  I was able to use the new embossing set I recently acquired.  It is Wedding Set 2 by Sizzix.  It has the A2 bg folder that I used (although I hid the second heart) and 4 smaller ones - this says Together Forever.  I used Labels 4 and a butterfly by Spellbinders.
Recipe:  1 ribbon, 2 embossing folders, and 3 dies:  http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/
(Thanks to their designers - I was quite influenced by some of their examples.)

Friendship with lace and a doily

This is for several challenges.  The image is Whippersnapper, colored with prismas and gel pens,  I used lace, and a ribbon to tie up the Basic Grey Acrylic button - with a matching piece to hold the sentiment.

Happy Birthday,golfing friends

Friends of ours, a couple who love golf, both celebrate their birthdays this week. I will send them this joint card - including a huge golf ball!  The image is from a Wish RAK friend at SCS.  The dark olive cs and DP are AMuse, and the flowers are Petaloo.

B&W with Plum

I have certainly made the purchase of this HB folder worthwhile!  It is definitely my go to item when I have lots of blank space!  I was not sure about the B&W strips, but when it is put together I think it works.  It seems like there have been lots of challenges using strips recently.  I cannot recall where the image is from.  The flowers are Petaloo, with a black half pearl added.

Shabby chic masculine get well

This is another favorite image - ok, I have a lot of them - you probably do, too!  Sometimes I color it, but I decided to leave it unadorned.  It fits well with the shabby chic and monochromatic themes of challenges.  I want to express my sadness at the ending of a favorite challenge - Card Positioning Systems (CPS).  Tami and crew, I have enjoyed doing many of your challenges, and they will be missed.  Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into this enterprise - we will see you around elsewhere.

It may look like I am taking a break from card making on some of these days, but I have done several of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at SCS, and I have decided not to double post my cards.  This challenge goes on all month, so there is still time to play along.  There are oodles of prizes - offered to participants who also send cards to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Remade Christmas 2012,

I am continuing to use the stamp I have selected for our 2012 cards - creating different versions.  When I find one that is easily duplicated I will make several of that one.  I cannot decide if I like the divided panels using this DP.  Let me know what you think.  The DP is Faith by Paper Studio.  The stamp is unmounted and I forget where I purchased it - could be Eureka.  The sentiment is computer generated.

NOTE:  I failed to re-read the instructions for the Christmas Challenge - I needed a bow.  So I re-made the card to include the bow as well as the green ribbon.

O Holy Night

I don't have many "musical" supplies, but this is one of my favorite Carols, and the Allegro EF also has music. I also used the Snowflake EF.  The stamp is Studio G, but the label also says Hampton Art.  The dies are Labels 4 (Spellbinders).

MMTPT - Thinking of You

I am trying to meet my goal of sending a few cards each week to people in need of cheer.  I will come back later with a link, but this card is for the weekly TeaPot Tuesday challenge on SCS.  Our cards this week will go to a member of SCS who is undergoing difficult cancer treatment.  I wanted to get my card made and in the mail, but will upload to SCS late Monday.  I made a pink lady bug in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

ACAD - Birthday in turquoise

I posted a weekly challenge on the Card a Day Blog thread on SCS - to use items from our stash.
I colored this flower at least a year ago - I often color images while sitting at our RV park craft shows. It gives me something to do, and I have found another bonus - I can show people that I actually create my cards - they are not from a purchased computer card program.  Can you tell that is a pet peeve?
In addition, I have had this ribbon for a while - as well as the cs and dp.
The embossing folders are Cuttlebug.  The flower is Hampton Arts.  I used Coredination for the embossing - but I did mess up and embossed the wrong side, so the color does not show through this way.  I clipped the image corners with scallop edging scissors.

YNSC18 Thank You

The YNSC18 challenge is to use brown, yellow and orange. I used this sunflower (from a WishRAK member) colored with Prismas, and some DCWV fall DP. The embossing folder is a new one for me - Sizzix Fall. The sentiment is Fancy Pants. and the punch a Martha Stewart border punch.

ACAD - non traditional Christmas

Whew!    I just finished an hour and a half phone session to get me e-mail and blog access corrected.  We subscribe to an on line service - it is scary and pricey, but seems to be worth it.  I am not sure just what caused the problem, but all is fine now.
This week's Card a Day (on Splitcoaststampers) challenge, issued by Nat, is to do a Christmas card in non-traditional colors.
This is about as non traditional as I get for Christmas cards - the papers all come from a Paper Studio pad called Faith.  The stamp is unmounted and I have forgotten where I got it.  Actually, I omitted a bit of the image - too big for this layout.  I think it works without the buildings of Bethlehem on the left.  The sentiment is Studio G.  I added gold ribbon and half pearls.
Sketch: http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/

The second card uses many of the same elements, with some red and green added.
The sketch is here:http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/
